All the labor of all the ages, all the devotion, all the inspiration, all the noonday brightness of human genius are destined to extinction. So now, my friends, if that is true, and it is true, what is the point?
‹ Your hymn will save many a cannon › A piece I did 2 years ago.
I haven’t shared original work in ages. (Did I ever?… I truly can’t remember). This is part of a piece a did for the poster of a film called “Nordeste” (Northeast), directed by Juan Solanas.
The film is about Juana, a single mother struggling to make ends meet in the poverty-stricken rural parts of Northeastern Argentina. One day Hélène, an affluent Parisian in her mid-forties, arrives in Buenos Aires – determined to find a baby to adopt. As their paths cross the story takes on issues of childtrafficking, poverty and social injustice.
People don’t say what they actually mean these days. So if you really want to buck the trend and be a social pioneer, cut out the lies and go straight to column two.
